Strength and Power
The successful development of sport specific athleticism must integrate a strength training program that trains movements as well as muscles. Our second program component focuses on total body strength training. Athletes progress from basic weight lifting techniques and Olympic lifts to functional strength training exercises that are adapted to emulate the multi-planar demands of most sports. The more athletic abilities developed the greater the chances the athlete will have to maximize their athletic potential.
At COREATHLETICS we like to use athletic lifts when training. What are athletic lifts? Athletic lifts incorporate many muscles, tendons, and ligaments together in one lift and many times in an explosive fashion. Athletic lifts use the whole body in a natural way to simulate what the athlete will do in sports. The faster the body moves around or under the resistance, further the resistance is moved and faster the resistance is moved during the lift, the more athletic the lift is.
